So if you didn't know, Magnitone is a great brand, selling electric face brushes. These are particular brushes that promote cell turnover, and freshen and renew your skin. The Magnitone Lucid is a range of brushes in an array of colours which I have loved for a long time.
There are a plethora of electric face brushes on the market nowadays, but I have always wanted and loved the Magnitone brushes, because they had amazing reviews and are stunning! I actually had to think of another adjective to describe them there)

My Summer Hair Care Routine!

I was requested what feels like a millennium ago by a hair company called Madison Reed to share my Hair Routine on my blog. 

I have to apologise because recently I haven't actually been keeping up with their emails! (I'm not perfect, okay?)

So! My hair routine is a little bit wrecked and crazy and it doesn't really differ from my previous routine, but let me tell you a little bit about my hair first.
I have braids or single plaits pretty much all the time. They are when you have extensions (I use synthetic hair, but some people use human hair or animal fur, i.e. yarn braids or horse tail) braided in with your real hair from the roots. I do this because they are really protective of my hair and last long- also I have no patience to be curling my hair or styling it everyday!
Braids are different to dreadlocks; you keep braids in for shorter periods of time and they are a lot neater. Dreadlocks can be old braids, but are usually not the same.


I also have little silver braid cuffs inserted in my hair, those are little silver beads or clamps you can string on your braids for decoration. I have quite a few different colours- you can buy them online but my sister got them for me when on holiday! 




This hair is particularly long- it hits about waist length on me. I do like my hair pretty long though so that's okay. I am also trying to grow my hair out underneath it (my natural hair is just touching my shoulder blades at the moment) so I need them quite long! 

The products I use are;
ORS Olive Oil Wrap Set Mousse- I use this frequently (probably two to three times a week) to keep my hair shiny and smell good- this is also really moisturising for the hair in the braids! 
Dark and Lovely Rich and Natural Hair Dress- I use this to moisturize my roots and keep them soft and nourished as they grow out! I can't use it too often or my hair gets oily- so I try and use it only once a week or twice if I need to!
Dark and Lovely Braids Conditioning Spray- once you do your hair it is quite right and sore or irritating, I use this to keep my scalp soothed and still condition my new braids.
Hollywood Beauty Argan Conditioner and Shampoo- I can't wash my hair as much because of the braids will get messy and the hair in them will get knotty- so I wash my hair once a week or once every ten days if I can- sometimes I won't wash it for quite a while (don't get disgusted, my hair is never that dirty anyways and it is not unhygienic, it is just if I am also washing my hair I will ruin my braids and hair underneath). I use this conditioner and the matching shampoo to clean the dirt from my hair and keep it soft too! I love that it is all natural too!

I feel like my summers are always really unproductive as all I really do is stay in my house and watch TV, which really isn't that good. I haven't planned to go on holiday this year, so I decided to make a Summer Bucket List to be more productive with my Summer!

I have been using this tea for a week now and I have been quite impressed with how effective it is. I have noticed a larger amount more definition in my abdominal region, and I never feel bloated during the day.

I have also noticed a difference in my weight, because I have lost 3 kg which around 6 pounds! 

I have never been much of a tea drinker, but over the past couple of days I have gotten used to drinking the tea. I just have it with water, no milk and sugar. It is quite plain, and just ends up having a bit of a weird aftertaste! But it honestly depends on how long you brew the drink for, the company suggests 2-3 minutes, but I have brewed it for longer for the past few days to get more out of it.

The tea works like a laxative, so you might be running to the toilet more often in the first couple of days, however it tends to whittle down to your regular cycle.

Healthy Ways To Lose Weight this Prom + Summer!

Yes, I know that some of you are still studying, and this is not as important, so I am not going to completely contradict your parents and say, "forget about school, let's get slim and bikini ready!" But I am saying "when you have your revision breaks, think about summer break..."

Same for you Prom goers. Prom season is here and for some of you maybe it's over, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't still be having a healthy lifestyle!

So here are some tips on staying healthy as we lead up to summer!

1. Set specific goals

Yes, saying, "I want to lose weight" is a goal, but it definitely isn't a specific. 
Take time out of your day to pick a healthy ideal weight, measurement or size which is achievable. You could even tell yourself "I want to be able to touch my toes by June 28th!" That's a goal in itself. 
Then weigh yourself. If you are 150lbs and you want to be 100lbs by the end of the month, that isn't healthy at all, and you should rethink your goal. You could change the timescale or the goal. Tip: it is okay to lose no more than around 2-3 kg per week. Weight loss is a slow process!


2. Figure out how you are going to achieve your goal

I did this by creating a whole playlist of workout videos on YouTube and whenever I wanted to work out I could play a different video.
If you want to lose weight, try fat burning workouts and dance workouts.
If you are interested in toning up and/or building muscle, try muscle strengthening and conditioning workouts.
For flexibility, look for Yoga and Pilates workouts. 

3. Meal Prep

If you haven't heard of meal prepping before, then it is basically preparing your food days ahead of when you want to eat it.
So it is Monday morning and you are starving! Today is the day you designated to be your healthy day, and for breakfast you planned that low fat yoghurt with granola and fruit (perfect healthy tumblr breakfast) when you open the fridge and- what!? That yoghurt expired 3 weeks ago.

A great example of why you should meal prep! You really need to meal prep if you want to get the most out of your healthy eating. Every Saturday or Sunday, pick up everything you want to have for the next week. That means nothing that will finish in a day or two. 
Meal planning can take up some time, but here are some tips!
   Know what you like- this will really help you get into the plan. Just keep in mind foods that you want to eat, and don't focus on the foodstuffs that you like, not the things you know are healthy
   Sit down and make a menu- take a pen or paper, or your laptop or phone. Then plan a day by day menu for yourself, consisting a couple of treats and things that you like. It does take a while, but it is a lifesaver for you
   Set a budget- set an amount you want to spend each week on food. This benefits you so much when you want to buy something unplanned that you don't need!

4. Go Vegan/Vegetarian/Peskartarian

Lots of people won't consider these options because it can be kind of stressful and sometimes unenjoyable because of the restrictions on your diet but you will lose weight this way.

Promtastic by Liz Elwes- Review

Disclaimer: I received this book for review from Scholastic, but that didn't change the fact that I enjoyed the book, although I got the book for free.

So Scholastic offered to send this to me a couple of weeks ago for free and obviously I accepted. I have really been getting into Prom posts on my blog recently, so a Prom Themed Book? Awesome!

This fun contemporary by Liz Elwes follows the stories of 5 different girls on their journeys leading up to Prom, some dread it, some are anticipating it, but you'll have to find out what one is!

Honestly, in some points of the book it was a little cliché and predictable towards the end of the book, the girl's endings weren't that surprising in some cases. I felt it was a slightly typical contemp, the way the girls thought and acted. But honestly it was an amazing read and would be perfect if this was your prom season, because it is a really cute book! I loved the way that it wrapped up and it would end up being a super amazing book if this year you went to Prom. It could also be relatable for you guys, which would be awesome! At the start the five dual perspectives were slightly confusing, but if after a while I could tell who I was reading about. I also ending up cringing in the awkward moments and routing for the protagonists in the final scenes and throughout the book.

At the end of the book were also some really amazing tips for Prom as well as an awesome quiz which I actually feel my whole life relates to... It was great that they were added, because as well as the book being fun and laugh out loud funny in some cases, it is really insightful and could end up saving you from having a couple of Promzilla moments. I would say pick up this book for the fun of it!

More of a 3.85-4 to be honest.

My Bookmark Collection! (June 2015)

So a while ago I noticed that some of the booktubers I follow (Catriona and Sasha) were doing bookmark collection videos on their YouTube channels.

I have never really had loads of bookmarks, but I thought that today I would show you mine because if you know me or have followed my blog, you would know that I am a huge fan of reading young adult/teen novels and love reading novels by British authors as well.

So for years I have always dog eared the pages in the books I have read, but after building up my own collection of books, I realised that it is actually a really unattractive habit. I think that I started dog-earring my books because I never had anything around me that I could use to mark my page in a book. Also I had difficulty in the past with bookmarks because sometimes they slip out or get ruined, so I lost my page and that was really irritating for me! 


I am trying to stop because I know that I dog eared a plethora of books I obtained from the library, and I really want to start keeping my books in a better condition.

Anyways, here are the bookmarks that I own!
